Company Also Announces New Manager for Texas Disposal Operation
BOISE, Idaho – Stephen Romano, President and Chief Executive Officer of American Ecology Corporation [NASDAQ: ECOL], today announced that Robstown, Texas subsidiary Texas Ecologists, Inc. has been renamed US Ecology Texas effective May 1, 2003.
Operated since 1973, US Ecology Texas provides hazardous and Texas Class I industrial waste treatment, storage and disposal services to industry and government customers in Texas and the southeastern United States.
"The US Ecology Texas name preserves our Robstown facility’s proud Texas roots while better reflecting the integrated services offered by our disposal sites in Washington, Idaho, Nevada and Texas, which all now operate under the US Ecology banner," Romano stated. Romano also announced the appointment of Robert Foye, PhD, P.E. as Vice President and Facility Manager for US Ecology Texas. “Dr. Foye brings decades of experience in the environmental services industry to the operation of our Robstown facility,” Romano said.
Foye previously served as Senior Vice President at Professional Service Industries in Houston, President and CEO of Four Seasons Environmental in Greensboro, NC, Vice President and General Manager of Rust Remedial Services’ southern region in Houston, and Vice President responsible for Woodward-Clyde Consultants’ Houston office. A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Dr. Foye holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. “I look forward to continuing our Texas operation’s dedication to safety, regulatory compliance, strong community ties, and the delivery of quality services to our customers," Foye commented.
